UPDATE ON THE ENFORCEMENT DATE FOR MEDICAL DEVICE IMPORT PERMIT

MEDICAL DEVICE AUTHORITY

Dear Valued Clients,

Further to our earlier announcement on the Implementation of the Medical Device Import Permit, Medical Device Authority (MDA) wishes to inform that the enforcement date, originally set for 2 January 2026, has been postponed to 1 July 2027.

Until the new enforcement date, the importation of medical devices will continue to follow the existing import procedures for customs declaration purposes.

To ensure a smooth transition, beginning 1 June 2026, stakeholders may voluntarily submit Verification Slip applications for non-medical devices that fall under medical device tariff codes via the online permit system (ePermit):
